Atlanta Condos For Sale

Whole Foods Coming To Midtown

June 16, 2015 by Thom Abbott

Whole Foods Midtown June 16, 2015For those of you in love with the organic grocery that is all over Atlanta, you are going to have one gosh darn close to your Midtown Atlanta condo. But don’t get out the reusable grocery bag just yet.

On June 9th, plans for an “organic grocery store” were presented to the Design Review Committee (DRC) of the Midtown Alliance. While the developer has tried to keep the store name quiet, the Whole Foods name got dropped numerous times. That and the fact that Related executives (the store is to be part of a residential tower being developed by Miami-based The Related Group) appeared before the Development Review Committee with Phillips Partnership, a firm that has designed seven Whole Foods (NADAQ: WFM) stores, including locations in Sandy Springs and Savannah, might be a pretty good indication as to WHO that organic grocery store will be.

Architect Rob French, with Phillips Partnership, presented renderings of the project, which would stand next to a proposed residential tower at 14th and West Peachtree streets. Miami-based The Related Group is the developer.

But as I mentioned earlier, hold on to that grocery bag. It looks like mid-2016 before a ground breaking, and an opening in 2018!!!  Shreek…that is some 2 PLUS years away!

( I did have to Google Map the address to know exactly which building this was!) It’s primary tenant (and I believe owner of the building) is Selig Enterprises. And you know them for developing such Midtown buildings as Plaza Midtown, 77 12th Street Apartments(and the sister building 60 11th Street–currently under construction) and 1010 Midtown.

Shep’s Midtown Ace Hardware Store a Welcomed Addition!

March 1, 2015 by Thom Abbott

Ace Hardware Midtown AtlantaYou know how it is. There you are in your Midtown Atlanta condo, ready to hang that totally awesome painting or art work you just picked up at the Dogwood Art Festival. What? We don’t have any picture hangers? Or Nails? So, down the elevator you go, into the car, out of the garage, down Peachtree Street, left on Ponce and all the way to Home Depot at Midtown Promenade on Ponce. Remember that trip?

Remember no more?

Shep’s Midtown Ace Hardware Store

Where is Ace Hardware Store in MidtownMidtown now has a totally cool, urban hardware store…and you can w-a-l-k to it! A big welcome to The Midtown Ace Hardware Store. It’s located on the corner of Juniper and 7th Streets. That would be on the back side of Viewpoint Midtown and just down the block from the under construction Seventh Midtown.

We’ve already been in the store twice for light bulbs and an HVAC filter. Zach Stafford, the owner is sure to greet you when you arrive or certainly before you leave! The team is attentive, and if there is something you need and they don’t have it, they will get it in stock. They are all about knowing what their customers want in the store!

It’s a full hardware store, just scaled down. Paint, no problem. Hardware, no problem. Lawn and Garden, not only no problem but the store will have a “First For Midtown” outdoor garden center along the side of the store on 7th Street. We can hardly wait to see what they bring in there!

Shep's Ace Hardware Midtown AtlantaAlso unique to the store is a smoothie bar that will open in the next couple months. Hey, get that boost of energy before you start on your next condo project. Residents of Historic Midtown will enjoy the convenience of this store as well, since they too have to make the same trek to the Home Depot!

In speaking with the owner, he will be working with the various Midtown condominium HOA’s to offer Community Discount nights for specific buildings. Now when did you ever hear of Home Depot doing something like THAT!

Welcome Midtown Ace Hardware. Ace IS the place of the helpful hardware man!
