Atlanta Condos For Sale

FREE Admission to Atlanta Attractions

May 1, 2015 by Thom Abbott

HIgh Museum Midtown Atlanta
High Museum Midtown Atlanta

I’ll be the first to admit (and if you have lived anyplace for any length of time) that I’ve lived in Atlanta for many years, and there are some of these attractions I’ve never, ever seen! But knowing there is an opportunity to see them for… FREE…well just who can pass up an offer like that.

FREE Admission to Atlanta Attractions

Especially take note of the Atlanta History Center and the High Museum as some great options. And the Georgia State Parks and Historic sites can be great for when you are looking for that Saturday or Sunday jaunt out of Midtown Atlanta to experience something new.

Midtown Atlanta Art Festivals | Festival On Ponce April 11-12, 2015

April 6, 2015 by Thom Abbott

One of the awesome things I love about Midtown Atlanta is the festivals. It seems like every time you turn around, there is another one to attend. I’ve certainly had to go into “look but don’t buy” mode as I’ve got no more room unless I part with something. But it’s always amazing to see what these people can create!

Midtown Atlanta Art Festivals | Festival On Ponce April 11-12, 2015

Festival On Ponce April 11-12, 2015Festival on Ponce is another great festival that takes place in a park we often drive by but forget it’s really a park…Olmsted Linear Park! The park runs along side Ponce De Leon Avenue after it passes the intersection of Briarcliff/Moreland and continues past the Fernbank Museum.

The Festival hours are Saturday, 10am-6pm and Sunday from 11am to 6pm.

Over 125 displays of arts and crafts, folk and outsider art will be there along with food and beverage! And its…..FREE!  The Festival On Ponce is sponsored in part by The Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces. They sponsor numerous festivals around Atlanta and you can find those at their website!

You can also learn more about Olmsted Park from the Olmsted Linear Park Alliance.

Looking forward to seeing you in the Park!

You’ll also be close to the new Ponce City Market if they have any of their retail open as well as the new Krog Street Market. Lots of things to see and do in Midtown Atlanta and the surrounding area!

Midtown Atlanta Condominiums | Aqua Midtown

December 28, 2014 by Thom Abbott

Luxury Midtown Atlanta Condominiums Aqua Midtown AtlantaAqua Midtown Atlanta arrived on the Midtown Atlanta Condo landscape in the height of the market in 2007. It was certainly marketed as, and is a different living option in Midtown Atlanta. The most notable feature of this building is the semi-private elevator to each and every residence! The elevator doors open from either side, but directly to the “foyer” of YOUR home. No hallway. No walking past neighbors in the hallway. The only opportunity whereby you might “bump” into someone is on the elevator if it stopped on another floor. In all the times I’ve been in the building, I think someone got on the elevator once.

Developer Scott L. Leventhal described why he and Tivoli Properties choose Midtown Atlanta. “We chose Midtown because it’s the only part of Atlanta that closely resembles Manhattan – in terms of its cosmopolitan flavor. Access to transportation, and the quality of its venues, restaurants, and retail establishments. And, clearly, Midtown is the center for business and commerce in the city. It’s become the true crossroads of Atlanta.” Well said Scott.

Aqua Midtown AtlantaYou arrive at  Aqua Midtown Atlanta and the distinctive design of the building is captured in the lobby with the massive water feature and one-of-a-kind barnacle sculpture by world famous Jennifer Prichard. It’s clean and simple. Besides private, keyed elevator access,  Aqua Midtown Atlanta offers exceptional amenities:

  • 24 Hour Concierge
  • Secured Parking and Guest Parking
  • State-of-the-Art Fitness Center
  • Club room with catering kitchen and bar
  • Resident Guest Suite

Aqua Midtown Atlanta’s target buyer was the “sell the big home the kids are gone and move to the city but we still want a huge space.”  As a result, the floor plans are the largest of any Midtown Atlanta Condominium. It’s convenient location offers grocery shopping next door at the Publix Urban Market; restaurants like Marlow’s Tavern or Steamhouse Lounge are just a block away! If your plans call for travel, and you don’t have car service to the airport or want to pay for parking, the Midtown MARTA station is just across the street!

  • Aquamarine  3 Bedroom — 3,005 sq ft

The Aquamarine was the first 3 bedroom condominium home available in Midtown Atlanta that was not a combination of units. It was designed this way. Here is the amazing floor plan….

West Midtown Atlanta — It’s Happening And MORE!

November 12, 2014 by Thom Abbott

West Midtown White ProvisionIf only I’d  had the foresight to buy some old warehouse  in the district that is now West Midtown Atlanta! Because now, the entire area is HOT, HOT, HOT!!

And there appears to be no end in sight! I’m currently working with a Buyer looking in the area, so it’s got me spending more time on the other side of the Downtown Connector…and so I should!

Retail and Restaurants are popping up all over the Westside Provisions! There is the new Elan Apartments at 14th and Howell Mill Road. And the Weston Eastside Apartments already has a sign on the street “A Few Homes Remaining!” The apartments are filling up fast! There is no new condo construction in the immediate area of Howell Mill and 14th…and only White Provision has just a couple developer homes remaining!

West Midtown Loft Office SpaceToday, The Atlanta Business Chronicle had reported a new loft office development that is coming on Ellsworth Industrial Drive. It looks like it will re-position an existing warehouse-type building that currently has two furniture stores. (And where will THEY go.) Geared towards creative-type firms, the 75,000 square feet of space will fill a much needed office space niche.

“Cool” firms look for cool space. People like to work in an office that is unusual. And the industrial edge of West Midtown Atlanta  still exists with its railroads and warehouses, but this kind of development is a great alternative to the office buildings in Midtown Atlanta proper. The story also reports that loft office space is up to 90 percent occupied in the West Midtown area!

Other exciting new additions to the area include the Topgolf International project, also on Ellsworth Industrial. (It’s 65,000 square feet of new construction on what was once vacant land)

I’m going to have to roam the streets more in this part of Midtown Atlanta to keep up with all that is happening!!

Yes, Music Midtown 2014 Has Arrived!

September 18, 2014 by Thom Abbott

Concert Photo Old TimeDespite the fact that the Midtown Neighbors’ Association voted it down….Music Midtown 2014 arrives in Midtown Atlanta at Piedmont Park this weekend.

For attendees that may not understand that position, just understand what it would be like if you had thousands upon thousands of people all over YOUR neighborhood for 3 days. One would guess you might not like that.

The biggest thing to remember if you are coming from ANYWHERE in Atlanta and you have access to MARTA or can drive to a MARTA station…..TAKE MARTA TO THE EVENT!! It’s an easy walk from the Midtown station on 10th Street to the Park.

If you are heading to the festival  here are some tips to help you get around!

Where to get in:

There will be five entrances into the festival grounds:

• The Charles Allen Gate, located at the corner of 10th Street and Charles Allen Drive.

• The Park Drive/Bridge Gate is available to attendees coming from Monroe and Park drives.

• The Lakeside Gate is accessible at the 14th Street entrance to the park or by Magnolia Hall.

• The 10th Street Gate, located across from Grady High School.

• The 12th Street Gate, located at 12th Street and Piedmont Avenue.

Music Midtown 2014 ticket sales will begin on-site at 2 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday at Box Office Central located at 10th Street and Charles Allen Drive as well as at 12th Street and the Greystone box office on Piedmont Avenue. Cost is $135 for a two-day general admission pass and $500 for VIP. Gates open at 4 p.m. Friday and noon Saturday.

Re-entry will be permitted, but you must have your ticket “scanned out” when exiting. You must use the same ticket to gain re-entry onto the festival grounds.

Hungry? No Problem!  Food trucks and concessions will be spread throughout Piedmont Park. There will be plenty of beverage choices of the adult and non-adult variety. Also, ATMs will be set up around the park.

Try. Try and respect the neighborhood you are in and put your trash where it belongs and if you need to “relieve yourself” do so in a porta potty!
