One of the great things about life and living in Midtown Atlanta is the food! If you are not partial to messing up your nice condo kitchen, you will LOVE living in Midtown Atlanta! Breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks and coffee…you can find them all just outside your door!

And how about all those opportunities at a d-i-s-c-o-u-n-t!!!! Oh Yeah!

Chances are pretty good that your condominium HOA is a member of the Midtown Alliance. This is the community improvement district (CID) that is responsible for creating the Midtown Blueprint back in the 90’s…and is what as made Midtown what it is today! Part of that membership is a 10% discount from participating Midtown merchants and restaurants. If you don’t have a membership card, check with your concierge to get yours!

It’s not every day that you see streets in Atlanta not filled with the ever present automobile. Unless you live in a neighborhood like Midtown Atlanta, it’s pretty hard NOT to have a car and get around.

But, we are making strides in getting the urban core of Atlanta to be more transit-oriented, as well as even more walkable. So, what better way to get you into the streets, than to CLOSE THE STREET TO AUTOMOBILE TRAFFIC!

Atlanta Streets Alive Comes to Midtown

Sunday, May 18, 2014 2-6pm

This Sunday, May 18, 2014 from 2-6pm, Peachtree Street will be closed from 17th Street to Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive in Downtown Atlanta. Yes, Peachtree Street will be free of cars and you can walk right down the middle to your hearts content!

Activities will be varied from zumba classes to fashion shows and more! Or you might find a choice spot in a sidewalk cafe and just watch the people while you enjoy lunch and your favorite beverage (I’m thinking you might find me at my fav…Gordon Biersch Midtown!)

One of the fun things of any city you live in…is the local activities that happen all around you. From festivals to street markets, there is always something happening in your city…and in Midtown Atlanta!

A week from this Sunday, mark your calendar for the West Midtown Market at 1000 Marietta Street. This is one of those infamous “pop-up markets” where an organizer brings together local merchants into some unused space for a day of commerce! It’s really pretty cool stuff!

The West Midtown Market website has links to all the merchants that will be featured, as well as some restaurants that will be offering up some specials as well. I’ve been meaning to get to the 5 Seasons Brewery location in West Midtown….like forever! (I’ve been to the Prado location in Sandy Springs!) Now, I’ve got a double reason to go!

West Midtown is creating its own spice….with the warehouse-type space available, and numerous new restaurants as well as totally cool living options like White Provision...it’s a part of Atlanta you need to check out! Keep in mind, you a hop, skip and a jump from IKEA and Atlantic Station to keep your holiday shopping moving right along!
